BMC, baseboard management controller

A basedboard management controller, or BMC, is a small specialized processor that sites on virtually server motherboard used for monitoring and management of a host system. It allows a system administrator to perform the different tasks remotely without a physically visit to the system-such as power cycling, installing BIOS or firmware updates, and monitoring fan speeds/ components temperatures, and hardware failures.
